The inauguration of the extension of the La Martinière de Saclay health center took place on Friday, September 13, in the presence of numerous authorities including Christian Page, mayor of Saclay, Laure Darcos, senator and departmental councilor of Essonne, and by Thierry Barrandon, director of CNMSS.

With the culmination of this major real estate program, the residence EHPAD (Accommodation Establishment for Dependent Seniors) La Martinière sees its reception capacity increase significantly.

These are so 50 additional places permanent including 22 new places in EHPAD traditional, 28 places for residents suffering from Alzheimer’s disease thus increasing the number of beds in the establishment from 40 to 90, to which are added 3 places for temporary reception, which were opened on the occasion of this inauguration.

This real estate project has also enabled the renovation of 24 existing rooms and the creation of common premises dedicated to EPHAD residents (dining and entertainment room, small activity and family lounge, medical offices, etc.).

This new extension also integrates a PASA (Pole of activities and adapted care) accessible to residents suffering from Alzheimer’s disease : this is not accommodation, but a living space in which therapeutic activities based on gardening, workshops and various group activities will be organized …

Thanks to this transformation, Martinière benefits from a better geographical anchoring in the network of local establishments. With this new dimension, the establishment also responds better to the local need for the care of dependent people and patients with a neurodegenerative disease. Finally, theEHPAD de Saclay is now a downstream solution for short-stay patients in the GHNE (Groupe Hospitalier Nord Essonne) and the GPS 91 (Guérer Prévenir Soigner en Essonne)
