The happy days are drawing to a close. In a statement published on August 16, the Brittany Regional Health Agency (ARS) announced that a cluster of 77 positive Covid-19 cases, including 69 children aged between six and 17 years old, had been detected in a summer camp in Belle-Île-en-Mer (Morbihan).

“77 cases were tested positive for Covid-19 (including eight facilitators) in two collective reception centers for minors bringing together a total of 173 children“(64 children in the 6-12 year old group and 109 children in the 11-17 year old group), detailed the ARS.

Positive cases “kept in isolation”

On site, as soon as the results of a first screening are communicated, a “sector dedicated to covid cases“has been set up where the positive cases will be”kept in isolation in separate areas“before heading home on Tuesday.

The area which welcomed the children was the subject of an administrative closure by prefectural decree until the end of the stay, which was to end on Tuesday.

A majority of asymptomatic

“All participants in the stay are considered to be at-risk contacts“, we still specify in the press release.

The repatriation of children, originating from several different regions, and animators has been set up to reach their homes via “specific means of transport“to avoid contamination.

All confirmed cases are “mostly asymptomatic“and among the positive cases, a young person and a facilitator were vaccinated,” says the ARS.
