Prime Minister Jean Castex unveiled the conditions for deconfinement which will run from May 19 to June 30. The curfew will be gradually reduced and the reopening of places subject to maximum gauges.

The deconfinement schedule is now known in detail. Prime Minister Jean Castex unveiled in the columns of the Parisian the conditions for deconfinement and reopening of several places. Three key dates should be remembered.

May 19: terraces, cinema and curfew at 9 p.m.

First stage on May 19, the curfew will be postponed from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will be accompanied by a series of measures:

  • Maintenance of telecommuting
  • Reopening of cinemas, party halls, marquees with a gauge of 35% of the workforce, up to 800 people per room.
  • Reopening of museums with a gauge of 8 m2 per visitor
  • Reopening of terraces at 50% of the capacity and with tables of up to six people
  • Reopening of all shops and covered markets, at a rate of 8 m2 per customer
  • Reopening of libraries with a maximum occupancy of one in two seats and a gauge of 8 m2 per person
  • Higher Education : face-to-face with 50% of the workforce
  • Reopening of casinos with a gauge of 35% of the workforce
  • Reopening of zoological parks outdoors at 50% of the workforce
  • Resumption of dance classes for minors
  • Sporting activities outdoor: 10 people maximum, contactless only
  • Sports competition outdoor activities authorized for amateur practitioners up to a maximum of 50 people, contactless only
  • Spectators authorized in outdoor sports establishments (stages) or covered (swimming pools): 35% of the workforce, up to 1,000 people (seated, not standing)
  • Sports practice authorized in outdoor sports facilities (stadiums) or indoor (swimming pools) for priority audiences such as schoolchildren
  • In the places of worship, for the ceremonies of weddings or from PACS : one location in three, staggered between each row
  • Funeral ceremonies authorized up to a limit of 50 people
  • Reopening of lifts and centers of hydrotherapy with a workforce of 50%
  • Resumption of festivals outdoor sitting with 35% gauge up to 1,000 people
  • Gatherings more than 10 people prohibited, except guided tours

June 9: curfew at 11 p.m., flexibility in teleworking

Then the next date to remember is June 9. The curfew will be postponed to 11 p.m. and several other measures will come into force, including the need for a health pass to access certain events.

  • Relaxation of telecommuting
  • The gauge of cinemas, party halls, marquees increases to 65% of the workforce, up to 5,000 people per room. A health pass will be required for more than 1,000 people
  • The gauge in museums pass to 4 m2 per visitor
  • Terraces outdoor open to 100% of their capacity, tables for six people maximum
  • Reopening of indoor cafes restaurants with a 50% gauge and tables of up to six people
  • The gauge of shops and covered markets increases to 4 m2 per customer
  • That of libraries also passes to 4m2 per person but the rule of one in two occupied seats is maintained
  • Higher Education : face-to-face maintained at 50% of the workforce until the start of the September school year
  • The gauge of casinos is increased to 50% of the workforce. A health pass will be requested for more than 1,000 people
  • The zoological parks open air will be open to 65% of their workforce
  • Resumption of dance classes for adults, without contact, with a gauge of 35% of the class
  • Sporting activities outdoor: 25 people maximum, resumption of contact sports
  • Sports competition outdoor allowed for amateur practitioners, 500 people maximum
  • Spectators authorized in outdoor sports establishments (stages) or covered (swimming pools): 65% of the workforce, up to 5,000 people. Health pass required for more than 1,000 people
  • Sports practice authorized in outdoor sports facilities (stadiums) or indoor (swimming pools) even for non-priority audiences, up to 50% of the workforce
  • Reopening of lifts to 65% of the workforce and hydrotherapy 100% of the workforce
  • Reopening of exhibitions and fairs at 50% of the workforce, up to 5,000 people. Health pass required for more than 1,000 people
  • In the places of worship, for the ceremonies of weddings or from PACS : one in two locations
  • Funeral ceremonies authorized up to a limit of 75 people
  • Festivals outdoor sitting with a 65% gauge for up to 5,000 people. Health pass for more than 1,000 people
  • Gatherings more than 10 people prohibited, except guided tours

June 30: end of curfew and lifting of gauges

Last date to remember: June 30. It corresponds to an exit from the health crisis, with a lifting of the curfew but a maintenance of barrier gestures.

  • Total lifting of curfew
  • Health pass required for indoor and outdoor events of more than 1,000 people
  • Lifting of gauge limits (depending on local situation) in establishments open to the public
  • Sports competition outdoor: 2,500 people maximum for amateur practitioners. Health pass for more than 1,000 people
  • Resumption of outdoor festivals standing with 4 m2 per festival-goer. Health pass required for more than 1,000 people.

These reopenings are all conditional on the health situation of each department. If the situation deteriorates locally, the government could then block reopening and delay the schedule in the affected areas.
