If you have purchased sausages recently, check that they are not one of those lots contaminated with listeria.

The first product, dry sausages, was marketed by Casino under the name Cabrol La Salvetat (batch number: 10). The second was marketed in the Hautes-Pyrénées by Carrefour and by a butcher from Beaucens (batch number: 230321).

Responding to listeria

The bacteria found in these sausages can cause a foodborne illness called listeriosis. It can cause complications in the most fragile, such as young children, the elderly, pregnant women or people whose immune defenses are weakened.

It is recommended not to consume these sausages. You can either throw them away or take them back to your store for a refund.

In addition, “people who have consumed the products mentioned above and who have fever, isolated or accompanied by headaches, and muscle aches, are invited to consult their doctor by notifying him of this consumption”, knowing that the incubation period for listeriosis can be up to eight weeks.
